At 300 years old, the Cross Keys is the oldest continuous licensed premises in Stirlingshire, with deeds dating back to 1707, the year Queen Anne succeeded to the throne and the Acts of Union were signed joining the parliaments and sovereignty of Scotland and England. With so much history, you might be surprised that, so far, no phantom drovers, grey ladies, headless horsemen (or legless barmen!) have been spotted – yet… |

The pub is all that you would want from a country inn. We serve a full range of beers including our regular real ale – the multi-award-winning Bitter and Twisted from the local Harviestoun Brewery in Alva – and a guest ale which changes monthly. The excellent Belhaven Best is our favoured heavy with Budvar, Stella and Erdinger all on draft.
There are an ever changing selection of malts and blended whiskies featuring Glengoyne as our house nip. Don’t worry, we also have a small, well considered wine list which will satisfy any taste, with white, red, rosé, Prosecco and Champagne by the glass. Each bar has a log fire during the winter. In warm weather, guests can enjoy the beer garden, with views across to the Ochil hills framed by the local church steeple.
Dogs are welcome in the top bar and, of course, kids with well behaved parents can pop in for a pint or two, with or without food. Wi-fi is also available.
